How to Place a Link in your Post

Video tutorial can be found HERE.

Thanks to GREAPER for putting this tutorial together.

When you have a thread you want to link to, highlight it with your mouse, and the click Edit>Copy

Then write your post. When you get to the point where you want to post your link, click on the little globe button with the chain links under it.

A small window will pop up asking you to insert your link

Right Click on the small window and click on paste to put your link in the window. Then click OK.

It will insert your link into your post wherever your cursor is. Some of the text will be highlightd blue. That text is selected. Hit your down arrow key to leave this text as your link message, or type the words you want to appear in your post.

When you click on the submit button, the link will appear as orange text that is clickable.

And there you go! You've got a link in your post.

Re: How to Place a Link in your Post

Good to see a tutorial for a new forum member. Is there any linking policy? I mean any post restrictions before you are allowed to link a post?

Currently there are no eligibility or minimum # of posts to be able to link or post images nor, apparently, are any planned.

Links can refer to other webhosts where your images are resident and linked to (preferred method, see Insert Image icon in your post/reply's box) and/or links to other sites. Your images can either be:
  • displayed here at your intended resolution/size using the Insert Image icon and linked to your gallery. Your gallery can be Flickr, Photobucket, etc or a gallery (public or private) here at Photography Corner (see the Galleries tab).
  • displayed as a thumbnail using the Attach icon (paperclip). Viewers then have to individually open & close the thumbnail to view.....an alternative but NOT preferred.
Any other websites that you wish to link to must be within the guidelines of this site. They should not for the principle purpose of driving this site's traffic to other websites (ie your gallery, your commercial site).
