iPad Frustrations

OK I cannot seem to find an clear method for moving pictures from a PC onto an iPad. I have read something about going through iTunes but that certainly is not very intuitive.

as it stand right now I am not very happy with apple for making something so difficult to use. At least with my nook I can just drag and drop and be done. nice, easy, intuitive.

Re: iPad Frustrations

I use "Photo Transfer App". I believe it was 1.99 as a purchase from the app store. Transfer photos over wireless network. No need to connect and/or sync.

Re: iPad Frustrations

Ok I think I figured it out but man what a freaking hassle. Only a "genius" would come up with this overly complicated methodolgy.

Thanks both of you for advice.

Re: iPad Frustrations

Good luck getting anywhere with Apple........

I got an iPad that the screen just cracked on, radial spiderweb around the button on the bottom. Apple and their "geniuses" don't consider that a defect. I got a 2 year extended Apple Care Warranty that I actually got the "Genius" to admit was a waste of money. I thanked him for at least being honest.

Re: iPad Frustrations

I have a love/hate relationship with Apple products. I'm a recent Mac convert, and own an iPhone, iPad & Apple TV. The reason I was so hesitant to make the switch is mainly because: if you want to do something with your Apple product that it wasn't intended for (ie moving photos on to it easily), it can be a pain. As long as you use them for ways they're designed for, they really are superior products...

Anyways, a great solution to your problem is to use DropBox. Use your computer to sync the photos with Dropbox, then simply view them on your iPad.

bumping an old thread!

I tried some of the wifi apps, but it seemed to only do one file at a time? What app did you get and are you able to transfer entire albums easily?

I hate using itunes, its so slow to even get to the point to move the pictures over. My net isnt the fastest so dropbox doesnt seem to be a good solution for me.

I bought the ipad to do sales sessions with, and the customers love being in control. the first stage of the sales where they just go through the pictures and mark the ones they like is extremely boring for me but at least I dont have to listen to "yay" or "nay" while I do it on the computer, which sounds the same after a while.

Re: iPad Frustrations

The simplest method is to use a network drive. Plugging a usb drive into your wireless router and sharing it on your wireless network makes it visible to both your PC and the Ipad. Dump your photos to this drive and they're accessible on the Ipad and can be copied onto it.

Re: iPad Frustrations

By the way some routers, such as the ASUS dsln55u router also allow you to set the drive up as your own personal cloud so you can access your photos from any device across the internet. Very useful as you do not need to upload photos which is extremely time consuming. Just dump the photos on your network drive and you're done.
