Thanks for your comments.

It is a very nice spot to live, photographically and for health, low population and clean air etc. My only problem is due to centuries of deforestation by humans and fires, most of the hillsides are covered in scrub.

It doesn't photograph too well, it gives a fuzzy 'out of focus' look to things and I have not yet figured out the best way to deal with it.

The location looks like it has potential. Would like to shoot there at the edge of light, sunrise or sunset, depending upon its orientation.

I think you are correct, it could do with some stronger side lighting to give a bit of 'oomph.'

I think the view is looking about N/NE so I'll return later in the day and have another go.

Def a beautifully composed photo, but also, as you say, seems very desolate.
