Macro is not my strong suit, fortunately this little bloom let me spend some time battling the slight breeze to get a few shots. Single bloom of a Fireweed.

Lovely colour, great dof, very sharp... if I had one thing it would be that I wish there was a little bit more space at the bottom.

Can't disagree at all with the framing issues. Ironically this was not the copy I had intended to post, but close enough... the one I intended to was shot cropped more, doing away with the end of the flower altogether.

Shooting this at F36 I honestly did not expect it to come out as spot on as it did, usually the loss diffraction is very noticeable. but i'll take the win

Was shot with Nikon 60mm AF F2.8 D lens.

Thanks Jere, I have that lens too, so was flash used? Excuse my questions as there's no exif information

SB-600 flash on the shoe, pointed up reflected off an umbrella I manually balanced over the whole mess... complete hack job in the field
