Thank Goodness for backups

Win 10 in its wisdom decided there were disk errors on my drive and had to spend time making repairs. Concurrently adobe decides to update Lightroom on the rebate,

The end result is my 2016 catalog became corrupt and not repairable. NOw for those that work in LR about once a week when you shut down it prompts to back up the catalog, Occasioanally I have skipped this because with the massive number of shots I have 155k photos from this year in 1 catalog. It takes about 35 minutes for the back to be made so at times its inconvenient. Well I am very glad that I made one over thanksgiving as I had to restore that one and only lost a few days work. Granted no image files even if I had to recreate the catalog from nothing were lost, but much time was save in not having to categorize each photos set,

Re: Thank Goodness for backups

That is an ever-recurring nightmare for me. Glad you got your catalog sorted out. I need to figure out a better system of back-up. I've lost too many photos from HDD crashes.
