Swallow Falls

Taken in October, there really wasn't much color except for the leaves that made the swirl interesting. My first time learning how to use a variable neutral density filter. What an experience! Of course I would love to have your comments to help me keep learning.

Re: Swallow Falls

Considering it looks like a dimly lit environment you did a fine job of exposing this scene. The variable ND filter did wonders with the swirling leaves and falling water. Fine shot!

Yes, the lighting was challenging and I know I couldn't have got the shot without the filter. Thank you so much for your comment.

Thanks so much! I wouldn't go without my VND filter any more! I will say that there are certain times when the VND doesn't work well. It will leave dark blotches on your images and I think it is caused by certain directions of light. If that happens I dial back the filter a little and reposition my tripod and that seems to take care of it. Other than that, I won't go anywhere without my filter now! It's benefits far outweigh it flaws!

Re: Swallow Falls

I love the richness of the colours in this shot Bekkie, and the swirl is a great element. Nicely done!
