The shy chick

Well it's a shy Black Capped Chickadee. He wouldn't turn and face the camera and smile. That certainly would have made his head less soft. 1/500 sec. f/8, 400 iso, 400m RAW capture, Nikon D70. When I convert this to jpeg those jaggies show up along his wings. I've tried in vain to avoid it but nothing seems to work. I'm thinking it is just due to the compression. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Beautiful capture with great details and good DOF. Any shot from the front? Don't think we have these birdies here.

This is a good capture! I really don't see any noticable artifacts. Good job.

Thank you guys for taking the time to look and reply. I guess I was wondering if there was some kind of Photoshop plugin and apparently there isn't one.

Great capture.

I think I see what you are referring to. Is is the way the wing and white seems to zig-zag as opposed to being a sharp edge?

If so, I am not sure what you do about it. The picture looks as sharp as you could get. No camera shake, the detail on the branch and the birds belly is fantastic.

I am afraid I dont have much to offer in trying to fix. If you get a reply with a suggestion, please forward it.

Cheers.
Mark.
