photographic "writers" block?

I think I have the photography equivalent of writers block lol. I keep picking up my beloved camera, ready to take some pictures and no inspritation hits me! Has this ever happened to anyone else? Can you get out of it or does it just kind of come back?

we all get it from time to time I guess. I'm kind in one myself lately. sometimes ya just have to try something different.A trip to the mall may inspire you. perhaps someunknown territory. Sometimes my goofiest ideas end up the best ones.

Ir must be the season, cos Im having a block of my own at the moment too. It sucks, you just have to get back to having fun instead of looking for photos. My holga is strapped and ready to roll so that should keep me busy this weekend.

I have that uninspired feeling right now... just can't seem to find compelling subjects....

I think it does happen to everyone from time to time and I think VB is exactly right, a change of surroundings can be inspirational. Also other people's work motivates me as well.

It's the same with us model-builders. But some of us have the option of being able to put the model-kits down and pick up the camera or vice-versa.

As some people have said. An unknown area might be good for you to rekindle that "creative spark".

With the fact that I have to set my model-building aside for the duration of time I'm living in Vancouver, I'm down to photography. So with that I'll probably be walking around Stanley Park, and Jericho and Kits Beach for shots. Have to work on my Night-Time Photography. That's my weak point and it's one of my deepest interests too.

Yeah it must be the time of year or something. I seem to be in the same boat. It's cold and I just don't want to go outside to shoot pics. Gets me down a bit sometimes. Just do things around the house if ya have too just for fun. This is what I do when I am stuck in the house. I play with the kiddies stuff, lol.

Cheers,

Jules.

I get that all the time. I take my best pictures when the weather gets wierd or when I see something that strikes me - often an abandonned building or something like that. On my last roll (should be developed within the next couple of days) I actually set my tripod up in my room at 2 in the morning and made some long - exposure emotive portraits in only the light of my monitor. I really do want to see how those turn out.

Shutterbug's block is evil. I get it at least a few times a year. I find relief in going to Barnes and Noble and looking through different photo books for inspiration. Also, I pick up my camera and start looking for things in my area, big or small and shoot away.
