A Nearly Blackbird

The blackbird is one of the smatrest birds. This wonderful fellow has returned to our garden for a few years now. The distinctive white flash is only on this one side.
Cheers, Ray

I have a 'pet' blackbird that lives in my garden,Raymond, I feed the birds all year and he will actually come and tap on the window of the kitchen if I'm late with the grub! When I'm outside he walks right beside me and often sits on a chair next to me too! I think they're clever and very regal looking as well. Great shot.

I am there with you Terri You can get these dried mealworms which you de-hydrate, they love them. But then you get a garden full of naughty boys. (starlings) we love them too.
Cheers, Ray.

Have to hunt out those meal worms, ray and I get the bad boy starlings too in the winter months, but always marvel at how they allow the sparrows their turn on the feeders, one seems to stand guard to stop the other starlings and let the little ones have their share. Nature is much nicer than man.

Nice shot Ray. I've never seen a black bird before other than the black crows, Ravens, and vultures that we have here in Florida..LOL. Thanks for sharing. You got a lot of detail and the bird just really stands out. Love the photo.

We need to go to Florida in the near future Sophia. We get Ravens here but they are quite rare. The tale goes that if all the Ravens leave the Tower Of London the monarchy will fall. I think that they import them from other parts of the country to keep the numbers up. The ones we see on the west side of America when we go are very large birds indeed.
And thanks to all for coming to look.
Cheers, Ray.
