A Different View

Tried to get a different perspective from below the Space Needle. Tweaked it with a few effects and came up with this. Critics welcome.

Re: A Different View

i dono if i personally like the dirty ring around the top frame or the blown highlights in the trunk of the tower but definatley an interesting composition, i wonder if it would be even more effective with more symmetry

It was a kind of last minute shot before going in...more symmetry would defintely have improved it! Thanks for checking it out.

I thought it would be different to shoot it from underneath since all my other photos were of the whole structure. Then I started to fool around with effects...thanks for taking time to comment, Laurie!

Re: A Different View

Hi Cookie,

Looks like you enjoyed your trip to Seattle. Born and raised here.

Nice to see a different perspective on a building that's an iconic part of the Seattle skyline..

Re: A Different View

I like the basic composition. I agree a small change in perspective to synch the tower structure could perhaps improve the image. but the overall outline is quite engaging to me. Funny thing is I can see things like that on my monitor now if I could just translate that to the viewfinder! Nice work.

Thanks for looking, Heema. I used "photo explosion" to give it a penciled look and then the halo effect was added to make the whole photo look different than the original.

Loved Seattle! We stopped there during our Alaska cruise and then flew out of Seattle to go home after spending one day there (it wasn't enough time!). When we were taking off from Seatac Airport, I took a picture of Mt. Rainier with another volcano behind it...is that Mt. St. Helens?
