Good use of my camera ?

I'm sure a lot of us have been through this. We make a significant investment in our kit, take courses, read books and periodicals, enter photo contests, spend years honing our craft, and what do we end up getting excited about...taking pictures of our cat.

That's what happened to me recently, I entered my cat into the local paper's cutest pet contest. Now, I've filmed wild bears and grand vistas and fine architecture, yet I find myself using all my talent and best gear to get my little Sasha to win what's essentially a pet beauty pageant without the talent and swimsuit portions. How many have put the sum of their photography abilities into pet photos?
