Flooded White Sands

Just the day after Christmas, cSoul (one of my partners) and his family and I went out to white sands to do a little sledding. (hey, we don't have snow that often out here, we make do with what we've got, in this case, white sand). It's been quite wet lately, and the whole area was flooded.

cSoul and I hiked up over the dunes, and saw this flooded picnic area, and found it really compelling.

So we shot it. We pull it up and look at it now and then, and we're wondering, is this shot interesting to anyone but us? It was really fun to see in real life, but is this a seller, or a "put on your own wall you freaks" kind of photo?

I personally think this is a winner. It's very well done and quite original.
Congrats!

Thanks for the feedback ybounh!

I'm beginning to think this is a "put on your own wall you freaks" kind of shot, judging by the general lack of comment

I like it a lot guys! It's an interesting picture on its own and put in context it's almost amusing. I see why you both like it so much I wonder if it would be most interesting to locals or to those who know White Sands for what it is most of the time.
Cheers,
Bruce

Well it's a really cool photo, but I think maybe it's a bit *too* much in b&w, if that makes sense?

I know what you mean. It's occured to me too. I might give it a go with editing the color file. I can't remember why we went ahead and converted it.

To be honest I really like love the photo. Black and white works for me and the line of tables with the reflections cutting across the shot is really interesting. There's only two things I personally (<--key word there) would change... the first is that I think I would crop that table in the bottom left corner. all the tables coming across the photo are facing the same way and that table int he corner is turned sideways and since it's in the foreground it really bugs me. The other thing is the border... I'm not a fan, it doesn't seem to fit the photo for some reason. But other than that I love the shot. Great eye, I'd say it's a seller

I like the image. My eyes just keep roaming around in it....finding new little things. I personally like the presentation....color,tone,frame. Well done....and I can see it making a few bucks if marketed. Congrats!

You could also give it sort of a sepia or very subdued color. It looks a little stark in b&w to me, but perhaps that's the point?

I like it - if it were my own photo, it might end up on my wall just because it's neat.
