High School Theater and Copywrites

Last Saturday I was asked to shoot the final performance of a high school play. I got a lot of great images from the night and provided the school arts director with a copy. Can I use those images on my own website as part of my portfolio? Or do I need to obtain some special permission?

Thanks for your feedback!

Unless as a part of the job you signed something giving the copyrights to the highschool, the copyright's are yours.

You may want to get model releases though for individuals.

If the pictures are only being used in a portfolio, you shouldn't need any release forms.

I dont think there will be any copyright issue on this. You can use them in your portfolio site!
