Common Object

Can anyone name this object? I mean, tell me what it is, not give it a name like 'Henry' or 'George'.

Haven't got a clue. Do you know and this is a quiz or are you trying to find out? Good job you clarified, there are some real comedians around here, who knows what they would have come up with.

You did make me laugh with the naming thing, prof...what do you think about Reginald? This looks like one of those things I have in my 'junk' drawer that I can never figure out why I kept it or what purpose it serves..what is it with junk drawers anyway??

I know what it is because it broke off in my hand, today.

And I know about the comedians because I'm one of them... I think.

That's it! My object shall be called by his new name from this day forth, and it shall sit with honour upon my desk, and I shall greet him each morning and pet him and call him 'Reg'

I have three junk drawers in my office and my wife thinks they are full of junk but she knows where to go when she needs new batteries, paper clips, Christmas tree light bulbs, bulldog clips, a plastic Slinky...??? or some airgun pellets, .22 bullets, nose hair trimmer, tickets for last year's 'Trans Siberian Orchestra' concert, electrical tape, tooth picks, various screws, ball bearings, and a variety of power supplies that once belonged to now extinct appliances. I just can't throw them away because they may come in handy, some day. Then in the second drawer....

I'm definitely unhinged, as my wife will tell you, but, no, it's not a hinge.

Okay, I'll tell you what it is. It's a plastic thingy that is used for opening and closing plastic Zip-Loc bags. I opened a plastic bag of shredded cheese, today, and the red thing came off in my hand. So I guess that makes me an unhinged klutz.

Anyway, it now sits with pride on my desk and is known as 'Reg'.

It's a thing-a-ma-gig. It's to hold stuff...like a funkyfangled hold-it-device. Right?
