Questions

Long ago, I bought a book called "The Book of Questions" by Gregory Stock.
Came upon the book today....here is a question, parts one and two...

1) If you could spend one year in perfect happiness but afterward you would not remember anything of the experience would you do so? If not, why not?

2) Which is more important: actual experiences, or the memories that remain when the experiences are over?

1) No. Memories, to me, far out way total happiness. Sometimes even bad memories are useful at some point in our lives.
2) Memories that remain.

1. I may have already, can't recall....

2. The experience and the lessons learned are most important.... memories are not always accurate.. colored by our emotions...

1. No -- nothing is perfect!! I'd rather "remember" not quite perfect, than not remember something that IMO can't exist.

2. I'm selfish. . . . I want the experiences AND the memories.

No, I would rater live my life and make my own happiness. Then I don't have to worry about remembering it.

Character is built by experiences. I'd raher FEEL lfe and worry about the memories later.

Yes I would, because if I could not remember it, I wouldn't miss it and just go on in life...

2) Which is more important: actual experiences, or the memories that remain when the experiences are over?

The memories are more important, because if you don't remember the experience then you haven't learned from the past, so you can't improve for the future...

Im happy everyday so....LOL No I want to remember all.

I think experience makes you a better person, but without those memories it is nothing. For example. On my second pregnancy experience told me what was next and where my body was during labor. But memory reminded me of the horrific pain that was coming but would soon be forgotten again as soon as I looked at that beautiful baby!

Maybe that was a bad example LOL All moms will get it!

1) I'm a little sceptical about that "perfect happiness" thing, but I would do it. Which plays right into the second question.
2) To me, experiences are more importatnt than memories. Don't get me wrong, I have wonderful memories. The birth of my children, my first time making love etc. But without experiences, there would be no memories.
Just my opinion.

You've got that right!!! I don't there is ANY experience as wonderful as seeing that child (or grandchild) the minute after it is born.
