Crossing over

Was in western Queensland last week, where the drought has bitten hard. There's almost no water in any of the creeks or dams, and the bore water is getting salty, so the problems are being made even worse. The day before we turned up in Miles, they'd had a heavy shower, and at sunset on the day we were staying, another storm came through. I urged hubby to find a place for me to shoot the sunset, only to discover that this flat land had no points of interest that I could find. I spotted this rail crossing sign, and figured that was good enough as foreground interest, when we moved closer, I discovered there was a puddle as well, so I went for reflections.....sometimes you just get lucky.

Very cool shots. I like the composition and colors better on the first shot, but the lighting on the ground is better on the second. Maybe you could try lightening the first shot some? Great shots, though, and good that you got some rain.

I've had a go at lightening up the wide shot. Let me know what you think, please.

Both great shots - really nice sky! First one gets my vote though for the reflection in the water adding a little more light to everything overall :o)

The reflection made the first shot the better of the 2, love the angry clouds and sunset colors. Can't decide if I like the reworked though.
