Black-white color

Do anyone know how to make the color photo to black-white color with photoshop?

The 3 simple ways to do this

Image > mode > greyscale

hue/saturation > desaturate all the way

channels > pick one of the red/green/blue that looks best. :0)

I don't think the question was how to make something black and white, but how to do it with some color in it as well... as if a part of a black and while image was "colored in".

ok. duplicate the layer *ctrl j*, hide the top layer and select the bottom layer, make it black and white, then make the top layer visible again and select it, select hte area you want to be visible and then hit the mask button to make the rest of it invisible. :0)
