PS 2017 and nik filters

So the other day PS updates to 2017 and today I decide I want to play with my nik filters which I had previously installed. I go to find them and lo and behold they have disappeared.

After a careful search I found the problem. Apparently the upgrade process does not move any plugins from the previous version to the new version. It has to be done manually on both PCs and Macs.

from your adobe installation folder find the plugins fold under the older 2015 version of PScc. After the upgrade this folder should be the only one left installed. INsie there you will find the google folder. Copy that folder.

Paste this into the plugins folder in the ps 2017 installation plugins folder.

on my PC this is where the old installation was located
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5\Plug-ins

on My PC this is the destination
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017\Plug-ins

Mac will be something similar.

Hope I saved you all form a little heartache and frustration

Re: PS 2017 and nik filters

I was under the impression Adobe had addressed this issue in an earlier 2016 release. That was one of the things I hated the most about updating. I spent more time trying to figure out what plug-ins I had, reactivating the software, finding serial numbers and keys so on and so forth.
