Problem with SD card

At college we took lots of photos on a canon 60D with a Sandisk 8GG SD HC card. I put the card into the card reader on the mac at college and it couldnt read it. I then put the card back in the camera, the pics are there, along with some others we didnt take, complete with date and time info.
So so I brought the card home but now my Windows Vista laptop tells me the card needs formatting, when it doesnt! The pics are there but I cant get to em.

Re: Problem with SD card

Have you tried connecting the camera directly instead of using your card reader?

One problem you could have with the mac is the file system formatting. I believe you want Fat32 when formatting as the other windows formatting is not readable by the mac.

Yea I came up with that idea while at college. it didnt work. I've worked out the problem. Chris, who owns the SD card, took it home and put it in a different camera. That kinda messed things up! Ive downloaded a file recovery program and have the pics back!

Re: Problem with SD card

Yeah, sharing cards between different cameras can do that - glad you were able to recover them, though!
