Re: fields of straw

Sabine, I find myself just staring at this.....a wonderfully serene scene. Nice composition of elements, wonderful complement of colors (yellows of land, blues of sky).

Thank you so much for commenting, Russ. It means a lot!

I feel the same about this photo. I had driven past this spot first thing in the morning and thought to myself what a wonderful photo this could be with the right light. Well, I was in the car with my granddaughter later that afternoon and initially drove past this spot, but decided to stop, reverse the car, get out and take this (in my eyes) beautiful photo.

Re: fields of straw

This shot is made by the hay "stack" at far right in the foreground, Sabine. Without it, the shot would simply be a bunch of gathered hay piles in a field. With it, there's a sense of depth, and I keep wandering through the shot, from the foreground hay to the dramatic clouds. Also, I like how the circle of the hay juxtaposes against the horizontal line of the fence. Moreover, the warm tones of the field complement the cooler tone of the sky.

My only nit...you guessed it...is your copyright stamp, particularly since you've place it right on one of the strongest visual elements in the scene.

Have you printed this shot as large as possible? It's worthy of wall space.

Thanks for your great comment. I understand your nit about the copyright stamp. I placed it there, as I have had issues with someone 'taking' one of my photos before without asking. I know anyone with PS experience can get rid of a stamp like that, but I just try and do what I can. 😉

I haven't printed it yet, but that is absolutely on my to do list.
