Before and after calibration.

I must start by sincerely thanking Tim for he inspired me to calibrate my monitor. Calibrated my monitor with Datacolorexpress. It seems I was blind before. Now I find that most of my shots are to be worked again from raw. (You were right Russ about yellow saturation and details in dark. Thank you for pointing out the issues.) I have worked with two raw files after calibration. Posting here the results before calibration and after calibration. Kindly give feedback as whether my calibration and processing is correct or not.

Isn't calibration wonderful? Wait until you get prompted to recal. LOL

Re: Before and after calibration.

Sorry guys, but on my monitor the recalibrated pictures look to have poor colors and saturation. The sky in the second shot became a dull grayish blue, instead of the vivid blue it was before. I suspect some tweaking is in order, unless you are willing to accept someone else's concept of color.
Of course my monitor may be off, but I do know what I like.
What I think the second shot needed was some levels adjustments.

Thank you Janos for giving time to look at the post and giving your feedback. This is the first time I have calibrated my monitor with a combination of hardware and software. I was also confused about the sky a bit as I decreased the blue saturation (may be I was over-zealous) which took away the the vividness of the sky which is natural in Ladakh. Anyway gave back the blue saturation to the photo. Here is the shot with full Blue. Please give feedback.

Re: Before and after calibration.

This is SO much better, Soumen! I always thought your monitor was showing your colors too warm, and the second shot is much more natural looking now. Of course, the second stage is recalibrating yourself. It won't take long and you won't be overdoing desaturations like you may have in the sky. Regardless, you'll be working from a calibrated starting point, and if you oversaturate or undesaturate or add too much contrast or take too much away, you'll be doing so consciously.
