Re: Redpoll

Sabine, I can never get these little guys to wait for a decent shot. It seems they always want to perch for me when back lit and too far away for even a decent shot at 300mm. These came out very nice

Thank you so much for commenting.

I have to admit that when I first started photographing them I had the same problem. Now, on good days, I go out to our bird tree every day when I come home from work. My way of relaxing. Also, a friend built me a big birdhouse that the birds seem a lot more comfortable coming to, so... I basically bribe them with nice accommodation and lots of sunflower seeds. And my big Sigma (170-500) comes in handy, too.

Re: Redpoll

2 wonderful shots Sabine, what I really like is that the bird is the same color and tone as the tree and branch in both images, the eye is super sharp and that is critical in these kinds of images, LOVELY soft bokeh which keeps the focus on your subject the bird, very nice placement within the scene, all in all I LIKE them
