El Cajon Mtn another trek

As we are training for half dome we took this trek over Easter. Its a brutal hike and as it gets warmer even more so. With its steep climbs it is a full body work out.

This is a very rugged trail and not for the feint of heart. I cannot decide between BW or Color.

Did I mention it was steep.

12 miles and a little of 4000' elevation change.

Re: El Cajon Mtn another trek

Its a hike I recommend carrying more than 3L...I typically have close to 4L when on this trail and will not hike it in the summer as the area temp and easily reach 105F

Re: El Cajon Mtn another trek

Yikes! I don't think I could take that little walk in the woods. On second thought, I'm sure I couldn't.

Re: El Cajon Mtn another trek

Yeah there are signs warning of the washout, but this was very light compare to some later area we would get to.
