Never break the first rule of business

There aren't too many rules in running a successful business, but the most important is to not take jobs you can't do.

There are a host of reasons as to why a photographer can't do a specific job, and some of those obstacles can be overcome, however double booking / being unavailable isn't one that is easily fixed.

One would think that with more than a couple of decades under your belt, you would remember this, alas, today I committed this cardinal sin because I got excited about the project.

Being excited about a project is a great thing, but do not allow that to lead you to make stupid decisions like checking to make sure that you're available and have time to commit to the project.
