Well this is highly slanted on the mirrorless side. Certainly the weight factor is a big plus, but there are a whole list of dslr advantages that are glossed over: I mean weight is the whole reason I switched to the d750 from a D4 for hiking.

noise control
wide angle and crop factor (as most mirrless systems are not full frame)
ISO capability
EVF is not good enough for shooting action shots (like BIF or other wildlife which is not sitting still)

It also ignores the fact that there are many carrying systems like the cotton carrier that allow a dslr to always be at the ready for shooting while hiking.
