An Odd Catch

Not sure if there is somewhere else I could put this, probably the conversation corner, but either way I am looking for feedback so here seemed better. Anyway, here goes...

Despite the number of years I have been a photographer, and the number of photographs that I have taken it always amuses me, and confuses me, when I have one shot that I think is fantastic...but gets no love (reviews, likes, thumbs up, etc.) then I have what I consider to be the "Throw away" shots....that explode.

For example this year I am back at the Renaissance Festival and this weekend I went to go see Barely Balanced (Acrobat group) and I got the two shots below.

Then during the course of their finally, one of the guys was laying on his back juggling flaming torches with a balloon in his mouth (God that sounds weird to type), and the balloon popped. While they were waiting for a second balloon they started cracking jokes...including, "1-2-3-4, I declare a toe war." Which is when I got this (what i thought was a) throwaway shot:

I uploaded all the photos from the evening when I got home...and immediately the feet photo started getting likes. Right now I'm up to somewhere around 30 likes...and maybe 2 for the flames, and hits here and there for some of the other ones.

If someone can explain to me what in the world is so appealing about the feet photo, I would greatly appreciate it, because I'm at a loss at this point.

Re: An Odd Catch

Enjoyed both images very different from one another The foot to foot photo stood out for me, different, colorful and a part of the anatomy that usually gets less photographic attention. FUN!

Re: An Odd Catch

I like both images, but the feet are especially nice. Not only because of the feet but the lines and bands really add to the geometry of the image.
