$5000.00

You found a billfold with $5000.00 cash in it. Would you return it? Would it make a difference if it was a frail old lady, a rich man or someone you did not like?

Assuming the wallet had I.D. in it, absolutly. I would, however, expect some sort of a reward. But either way, give it back to it's rightful owner.

I would definitely try to return it! Several years ago, I dropped my purse in the snow in the parking lot of my apartment complex as I was getting into my boss's car (he picked me up for work), and didn't realize it until we got to the office. I called my daughter who was home from school and asked her to go look for it. She could not find it so I spent a good bit of the day cancelling credit cards, getting new bank account numbers, etc. About 4 PM, my daughter called and said my purse had been returned, everything still intact. Since the apartment complex couldn't give me the name and address of the person who found it, all I could do by way of reward was a gift certificate to a restaurant nearby that I delivered to the management of the complex who, in turn, got it to the lady who found and returned my purse. I'll tell you, it restored my faith in the kindness of strangers!!!!!

Lost and Found

Just for the record...I didn't find $5000.00 in a wallet. Therefore, I got no reward. I did find a wallet once, returned it and never got so much as a thanks. I also lost my purse. Had it returned. I never felt so relieved and grateful. Everything was there, money (which wasn't much) and all.

I would return it. Why, that could be the downpayment for some poor chaps mother's funeral. Or a deposit for some childs medication or surgery.
I believe in Karma, therefore, what goes around comes around.

oh yeah if it had the ID in it I would, but what else can you do with no ID but give it to the police station? the only thing I've found was 200 dollars when I was riding on the trail, so I took it to the police station, someone picked it up, don't know who it was, though.
