Mother Dear...B-R-E-A-T-H-E....! LOL!! I have Smiley Central on both my home computer and my work computer and have never had problems like that. Internet Explorer causes that same exact message in ALL KINDS of programs including when I use Auto Cad at work. It doesn't mean it was the Smiley Central thing. You should be running a scan disk, disk defrag and a full virus scan regularly. I try to do it every two weeks. Using the internet itself can be risky just because of all of the stuff out there. Computer junkies have even figured out how to get viruses affixed to pop up windows now. We got one at work that way.

Ad-Aware is also a good thing to run, which I believe I put on your computer when you got it and it will find all of the third party crap that going to different websites can put on your computer. They are called "tracking" cookies and gives companies information about your computer that they use to "advertise" to people online. Go to your start menu and look for a program called Ad-Aware. It's probably listed under Lavasoft. Update it before you run it and then delete all of the tracking cookies that it finds. This should also be a regular process since you use the internet regularly. I will call you today and walk you through some stuff to check your computer. I wouldn't worry too much. If you are interested in trying Mozilla Firefox as your internet browser, let me know and I will help you install it. I use it and Internet Explorer depending on what I am doing online. Breathe, two three four.....

Daughter Dear, I hear what you are saying, but it is really interesting that since I removed the smileys, my computer is behaving just like it did before downloading them. Don't rain on my parade! I felt a certain satisfaction at midnight when, thanks to Digital Dave "holding my hand" through the process, I was no longer getting the error message every time I tried to send an e-mail, respond to posts, etc..

Sandie.. if you are still having troubles, after uninstalling the program and deleting, and you have windows xp.... to a system restore to before the time you installed it... there are trojans and spyware programs inbedded in the smiley central software... if you do not have xp.. you'll need to go into your registry and remove the remains of the program manually..

For the people who want to see what is loading up on your XP pc when it starts - type "msconfig " in the run line. Go to the last tab on top of the new window called startup. On average more then 70% of the items can be uncheck to free up resources. The pc will boot faster and also run faster. If you have Win 2000, just copy over msconfig from xp.
