I have a very sad little Canon A95 that I'm completely fed up with because it is so limiting. When I got it, I thought it was great but I've moved on from those days and now I'm saving madly for an upgrade..what do you think of the Canon Rebel 350D? I keep asking everyone about their cameras before I take the leap. Anything would be an improvement on this one though! Oh, and your welcome..well deserved praise on this lot of images, Tyger.

terri- you may find this link helpful to get macro shots with your cannonA95
A95 setup

as for the XT here's my review on it.

XT review

In short, i'm very happy with it, it's a great entry level DSLR camera, one of the best in it's price range. I couldn't be happier. It's easy enough to lear on and enough features to keep the serious hobbyist satisfied. Mind you though this camera really shines with some good lenses.[/url]

Wow, Tyger, they are amazing shots and I've never got near anything that good. This guy in a camera shop here said it wasn't worth attempting additional lenses with the capabilities of the A95 being so limited but I'm going to do some serious reading up and this link has put me on the road! Cheers for that. Also appreciate your own camera review. I've talked to others about the 350D and have had great feedback about it..did you buy new or ebay it?

rule of thumb, never listen to camera shop guys, or sales. there are quite a few things you can do witth your cam. lookit up i'm sure there are alot more, i may have a few other links for you.

As for the camera i bought it new from my nephew who works at a camera shop. There are many places you can get a used one like ebay, fredmiranda.com, and that forum where that link is. Check there buy and sell or market areas, you may come across a great deal.

Personally i really wanted a "new" camera body especially because it was my first DSLR camera.

I'd prefer new, cause I worry a bit about buying second hand, but it's difficult to get that money together so I've been considering buying used. You've opened my eyes a bit on experimenting a bit more since seeing that site, with the A95. I've learned all the settings and use the manual mode mainly now, but macro has been a problem for me and I have very few that are pin sharp and that I'm happy with. There's so much to learn, isn't there. That's the great thing aobut photography, you've never really 'got it all'.

Very good shots! Yeah, even my tamron lens at 300mm has quite a narrow dof.

a quality, fast lens with a stablizer. Only need to be steady enough to keep it in view LOL
