Memory card trouble with the D50....

Recently my nikon D50 has been acting up. Every once in a while I'll release the shutter and I get a blinking battery sign. So I'd change the battery, then I a few shots later I get a "no card" sign. I check, the card is inserted correctly and formated. And I checked nikon's website its on the approved memory cards list. Then a take a few more shots and then I get both signs and the LCD freezes up durring image review. I have lost some of my best photographs that way. And I was wondering has anyone else had this problem? If you can give me some information or anything! I would be very appreciative. Oh BTW I submitted an email to nikon, and looked all inside the manual.

Thanks

-Ben

Have you tried a diferent card ? If you are getting the same problems with two or more different cards then I'd be very concerned and take it in for servicing. I've had only one problem with my D70 where I had an error message regarding my card. I re-formatted the card and it's been fine since. Flash memory cards need to be re-formatted periodically and I apparewntly neglected to do so and the camera let me know it.

Yes it does it with other cards. I'm waiting for a response from NIkon. If it needs to be repaired, I'll get that done, and by me a new nikon model, and use the D50 as a back-up.
