Your welcome Olya. I found it pretty simple to do, in fact it was the first thing I attempted when I got Photoshop. Patman's tutorial is really clear. Good luck. Don't forget to post your results.

I have been doing this for a long time. I love the effect. Here is one of my favorite photos I have done using that technique!

Orton Effect

I too, am I real fan of this method!!!

Here's something I created just today of a nice path I found in the woods. But by itself, it just was lacking any sort of mood. With the effect applied, it becomes a work of art.

After applying the effect, I also cropped for an 11x14 print. But it only took me a matter of minutes to create the Orton.

i had never heard of this but was quite impressed with everyone's results. i don't have a huge selection of landscape work right now so i decided to try this on a portrait just to see what it would look like. different...i like it. sort of like hand painted portraits that were so common many years ago.
