Echoes in time...

Please critique every area of this for me...it's a memorial tribute to this young lady who recently passed away..her sister wants JUST these photos in a design of my choice...thanks..I want it to be
as "perfect" as possible...even if it means starting over.

I love the idea and what you have looks good. Okay, here is my 2 cents, it looks like it is off center. Also, the middle picture is over lapping the photo in the upper left, but flush with the two on the right. Maybe have it overlap them as well? The photo in the bottom left looks lonely by itself. Also, I think that maybe have the photos blend out at the edges into the background so they aren't photos on a background. Or put drop shadows under each photo. Does this make sense?

Anyway, that is my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Judy took the words right out of my mouth! Those are exactly the things that I saw that could be improved. I love the background and the idea. It's very nice of you to do something like that for them.

In addition to what was already said... either have drop shadows on all the photos or none of them - don't do just 2 of the 5. Also, you might want to 'tone down' the text in the background, i.e., fade it out/make it lighter. As it is, the tonality is the same as the photos and it makes a rather busy background that competes with the photos you're trying to give focus to.

If you're going to overlap the photos, there needs to be some blend or change in color or contrast that breaks it up somehow. As it is, the center photo upper right and the lower left of the upper left photo almost have the same tone and the center and lower right photos just seem to butt up against one another. It just doesn't seem to flow well.

There are tons of ways to make these montages/collages work and everyone will have an opinion on what you should do, so I'll refrain from offering any specific advice. You have the general format that you want, now just work with blends, gradients, and positioning to make it work for you.

That looks soooo much better!!! They only thing bothering me is the bird and the photo in the bottom right being so small. Other than that, I'd say you probably got it.
