Big Red - Holland State Park

Hello everyone! I haven't been around here at PC in a long time. Lots of busy stuff in the past few months, and a heinous computer crash. But here I am again!

This was last night - a lovely evening last night at Holland State Park (Michigan). I took this about 1/2 hour before sunset, with a graduated neutral density filter attached in order to keep the sky from overexposing.

Nice photo. Can't really tell where the focus is though. Appears a little soft. Like the composition though.

Very attractive shot, nice combination of colours and of close-up and distant objects. As Shellie mentioned, it does seem a bit soft, but you did a fine job keeping the sky from getting washed out.

I like the addition of the foreground shoreline and the way you framed your subject. Colors and exposure look nice.

Holland Big Red

Hmmm... maybe it's because I uploaded such a low-res file that it looks soft? It was shot on a tripod, with a release, at f/16 at ISO 400 (so there might be a slight grain).

I'm uploading the image again, without having it downsized so much to see if that improves the quality.

Let me know your thoughts!

Stacy
