set to pixles and change the width, the length should automatically change. If the shot is longer than it is wide change the length to about 600-700.

I'll check into this -- but I'm almost positive my pixel dimensions box in Image Size doesn't give me an option to change anything. I'm looking at a Deke McClelland "tutorial" online, and I'm not seeing on my screen any way to change the pixel size -- only the ability to change the document size (which doesn't change anything in the pixel size box). Perhaps there is a setting that isn't right in preferences. This is quickly becoming a "Software" section post, though, isn't it? (Oops). We can bring it over there if need be.

Probably a stupid question but the picture has to have been taken between the contest date. I took some portraits on some slide film just before the contest started, buuuuuuuuut the slides just got developed and I got them back yesterday. I dont suppose one of the portraits could slide in? hehe. Just thinking the picture wasnt a picture until it was developed, so technically its in the date range. *tries but doesnt expect it to pass*. :0)

Besides ive only seen the pics from the slide, I just sent them off to get a 4x6 of a few of them to see how they look.

I would say it has to be, I think the point of the contest date range is so that you have a theme for you to go shoot, and you go shoot it, not to have a librarry of photos to pull from for a contest. But im not incharge!!!

The rules as posted:

There are some very simple rules that should be followed when submitting a photograph for a Contest Corner Challange.

* The first, and most important to keep it fair, is that only photographs taken during the duration of the contest can be entered.
* You may enter a maximum of 3 (three) photos during the contest.
* All photos entered into the contest must be emailed to resources@photographycorner.com and cannot be posted on the forum
* Each entry must be accompanied with both the date the photograph was taken, your PhotographyCorner.com username as well as the title of the photograph.
* You may use basic post production to "fix-up" your photograph, however extensive manipulation is not allowed.
* Once the contest is over, there will be a 5 day voting period, where the community can vote on and discuss the nominated photographs.

Perhaps I had esp and sensed the contest was coming up and that it was portraits? hehe. Like 3 days before the contest was announced.

And its not an image from the library, it was on a roll sitting in my camera bag for 1.5 weeks and was off being developed for a week *slides take longer than negatives and since im only in the city once a week, took me a week to pick it up*.

So im just hoping that the developing date lets me slide in under the date range, hehe.

Gosh, I don't know about that one, Gerry. I had what I thought was probably my best recent portrait with a date taken of 04/15 -- one day before the contest time frame. I wasn't happy about not being able to use it -- but "rules is rules." But, then again, I'm the newbie around here. What do I know??!!
