Picture Perfect: Digital Cameras Are Easier to Use

Article: Picture Perfect: Digital Cameras Are Easier to Use

Summary: Apparently, nearly 70 percent of American households do not own a digital camera, though that percentage is getting smaller every year. As digital cameras become easier to use and cheaper in price, digital cameras are becoming more accessable to your "everyday Joe and Jane". Comsumers only need a computer and the digital camera, and they can be creating beautiful pictures in no time. With online and offline printing of digital pictures now readily available, people don't even need printers to print their photos.

Question: With the continuing drop in price, increase in popularity and ease of use, digital cameras are becoming something everyone can have and enjoy. How is this going to affect the photography industry? Are more and more people going to start taking their own pictures instead of hiring professionals, or are people just becoming more aware of the industry, thus increasing business for photographers?

I think people will still hire professionals... I think the drop in prices of equipment, however, will show us an increase in photographers out there, however. It has become cheaper and easier for the average joe and jane to become a photographer... so I think it will become a more competative industry, and the real professionals will have to differentiate themselves from the "not-so-professional" photographers.
