Field Test

Coming back from town I decided to try out an old lens on the M8. This is a 50 year old 35m Summaron. Shot at ISO 160, 1/125@f16. This is practically straight out of the camera, slight color boost and minimal sharpening.

Wow, nicely done Pat. Very sharp and beautiful colors.

Pretty scene, Pat. Lecia's a great camera!

Compositionally, there's nothing really here that grabs my interest, though.

Enjoy that camera!

Thanks! More of a lens test than anything. I've been using a Zeiss 21mm lens or my landscapes, it is a new lens and and Im starting to like it but I am comparing it with my old Leica lenses, thats why some of my photos look redundant, and I'm finding I like the Leica glass much more. The comparable Leica lens is about $2000 more than I paid for this one and I dont know if I want to spend that much money. The purpose of bying the M8 was so that I could use all my old Leica lenses but since it's not full frame I needed a wider one, so the 21mm.
