Re: Early Spring Blossom

seems you're off to a pretty good start, Kathy... the shots of the dove and the finches are much clearer and sharper than the first ones you posted, and the tree photo is quite well done, with lots of detail. the contrast is much better, except in the last shot of the city. the shot of the little flowers in the field of grass is a great example of what depth of field is all about...

the noise program you mentioned is Neat Image (i sent you the link to their website...), and it will help a lot with noise. the best cure for noise, of course, is to shoot at the lowest possible ISO setting. ISO 1600 is really beyond what the XTi can do cleanly. some of Canon's other bodies, like the 40D, 50D, 5D and 1D-series, will take acceptably clean images at ISO 1600 or even higher in some cases, but even with those, it's best to shoot at the lowest ISO that will give you adequate shutter speed.

anyway, you've made great progress already... keep up the good work!

Calumet (online or visit the San Francisco store)

Adorama

B and H Photo Video

Never buy from Ritz - they are just plain too expensive. And their "price matching" policy does not apply to the companies I listed above.

The best advice is to always check the feedback at http://www.resellerratings.com if you have any reservations or concerns about a company.
