New Camera

Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in a long time, but I'm going to try to get on here more. Work is killing me! I don't have not one day off this month! Anyways I was wondering what is the best camera I can get for under $1,000. I need a new one, but don't have alot of money I want one with good shutter speed, one that can do really good close ups too. I have so much trouble with mine on closeups. If anyone has any idea let me know!!! lol

Re: New Camera

Are you looking for a DSLR (interchangeable lenses) or a prosumer style camera (zoom lens but not interchangeable)?

Re: New Camera

I'd like one where I could change the lenses. Maybe one day I'd be able to afford more than just the one it comes with! lol

Re: New Camera

Brittney, That Canon is a nice camera, but I noticed the ad did not include a lens. I would suggest looking at a "kit" camera so you get the body and lens. Some even include a flash attachment which will outprform the built in flash. There are several reasonably priced ones available. Good luck with the purchase and welcome to the corner.

Re: New Camera

Sorry, but there is a lens included, maybe I should have been wearing my glasses and looked a little closer. On second look, that would be a nice outfit to start out with.

Re: New Camera

FWIW, I have the XSi and really, really like it. I've got the lens that came with it, and have been patiently watched the classifieds on a few forums and purchased a 24-105, 85, and 60 macro over the last few months. I find I'm used the 85 and 60 the most often. They are VERY sharp, and a joy to use. In short, I don't think you can go wrong the XSi and a good prime lens.

Re: New Camera

You have some great advice that has been given so far. Normally I would have recommended picking up a used Canon 40D but since you are on a smaller budget I think getting a Rebel series body and a couple lenses would be right up your alley. Remember though, this is only the start and there will more than likely be thousands of dollars of lens purchases in your future, each lens has its purpose.

Re: New Camera

Brittney. Check out the Nikon D3000. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...al_Camera.html

This will give you a camera and a kit lens for $599.99. Then you can put the other $400.00 into a zoom lens like the 55-200. That should give you all you need to get started.

Go for a Nikon, Brittney. The Canon menus will be enough to make you wanna SCREAM!
