Has Anyone Ever Used Portrait Professional?

A buddy of mine put me onto this at work. Wanting to know if anyone else has tried this, I want to try it but I am not sure if this is legit or just someone pulling my chain.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Portrait Professional?

I played with it for awhile. Also used another portrait plugin for Photoshop. If I did a LOT of portraits I might reconsider, but I found that I could do a much better job manually.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Portrait Professional?

They have a free trial period (30 days, I think). Worth downloading and seeing if it is something you would use in your workflow.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Portrait Professional?

Like ohenry I've tried it not too long ago, the latest one is very easy to use and if you don't over do it you can get great results really fast. I'm considering buying it...for the price it's not bad. Many people also recommend Imagenomic portraiture http://www.imagenomic.com/pt.aspx a bit more pricey, but as mentioned, another plug-in highly recommended.

Try out the trial versions, if you do a lot of portraits and many at a time, it can save you some time in your Post workflow. I'm still on the fence.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Portrait Professional?

Portait pro is a good program if you are doing a lot of portrait work and need to edit quickly. Ohenry is right that you can get better results manually if you just have a few to work with.
If I am doing a senior session and have some acne issues this is the way to go. Or if I am shooting someone with less than perfect features.
I guess it depends on your workflow and pic count.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Portrait Professional?

I tried an earlier version of it a few years ago and bought it. Though it was rather basic then, it worked just fine. The later versions look much more sophisticated. I took advantage of emails from them offering updates at a huge discount. I paid and although it downloaded, it just wouldn't work at all.Their after-sales service seemed OK as they were very helpful in suggestions to get it going and said if nothing helped, they would send through the entire new version (rather than the update). Nothing worked and I never received anything. In the end I gave up. (But this was probably my own fault, rather than theirs, as I just don't like hassling people or companies).
