2009 Photograph of the Year Contest Voting Guidelines

Because there are so many entries for the 2009 Photograph of the Year Contest, we've broken the voting down into 2 rounds. The first round, which runs from January 10th, 2010 to January 17th, 2010, has 7 Groups. There are 21 photos/group. The top three photographs of each Group will be placed into the final round where they will be voted on to decide the 10 prize winners. In the event of a tie, both photographs will move to the final round.

The final voting round will run from January 18th to January 25th, with the winners announced on January 27th.

Make sure you vote in each group during round 1 of the voting process so that all 147 photos get a fair chance. If you have any questions, please ask them here.

Voting will be secret (ie. no one will know who you voted for, and the results of the vote will not be displayed until after the voting period has ended). You can only vote once in each group, and you must have 5 posts on the forum (including gallery comments) in order for your vote to count. Also, all photographs are anonymous, so please do not identify if you are the photographer of a specific photograph, or if you know which photographer took a certain photograph.

Voting in the Final round works similarly to that in the first round, however there is only 1 Group of photographs. Vote for which photograph you think should win!

Hello Tim
Can the photographer himself cast a vote for his own entry? Please inform. I'm amazed to see the volume of entries and of course the quality each of them. Congrats to all.

147 that were approved, yes. That's in the ballpark of what we've seen in the past.
