1) Too Many Emails!!?

Here around the Corner, during the Photograph of the Year contest at least, it's always a little chaotic. Galleries, voting, rounds, groups, private messages, email reminders... For the uninitiated it may seem a little too crazy to get involved. Perhaps you're getting more messages from the Corner than you're used to or than you even want! Don't worry, it's only temporary. After another week or so, things will start to get back to normal around here. You can expect a newsletter (like this one) once a month, and then around 2-3 PM's (private messages) per month (and you can even decide to not receive emails about those PMs in your UserCP in the forums as well: http://www.photographycorner.com/forum/usercp.php ). Either way, the BIG contest is almost over and things will get back to normal around the Corner. If you're relatively new here, why not take some time and check out some of the non-contest things around the Corner, like the resources section, the blog and the forums - the more involved you are and the more you participate, the better photographer you'll become.

7) Going Forward

As photographers, it's important that we continue to learn new techniques and improve our photographic abilities so that we can become better photographers. There's a lot we can do as a community to help other photographers (and ourselves) to become better photographers as well. Going forward, our goal for 2010 is to dramatically increase the offerings we have in the Corner Resource Center; more tutorials, more product reviews, more articles, more videos. But I can't do it on my own - I need your help. Remember the reviews you read before you bought that camera or lens? Remember that tutorial that walked you through that neat Photoshop technique? We need more of those around the Corner, and I want YOU to write them!! Now that you've had a chance to use X piece of equipment, why not write a review and tell others what you think of it! Love it, hate it, would buy it again? What about passing on that trick you learned in Photoshop? Think of how many other photographers would benefit from you walking them through that. If we all continue to help each other, we'll all improve. Going forward, if those of us that call the Corner home decided to pitch in and help out, the boundaries of our photographic skills are endless. Now get out there and take some pictures.

See you around the Corner,
Tim L. Walker
