1) Short But Sweet

The newsletter this month is a little shorter than normal. Mostly because there are no new articles/tutorials/product reviews that have been added to the Corner Resource Center this month (c'mon - want to write one up and have it published on the Corner - let me know!), and partly because a lot of you noted in response to the last newsletter than you actually liked them shorter and to the point. Without further adieu, here's your shorter and sweeter Corner newsletter.

2) Sponsor: Red River Paper

Inkjet paper from inkjet paper experts. Look for reviews of new photographic paper and greeting card paper available from Red River Paper coming soon to the Corner Resource Center. In addition, a portion of every purchase made at Red River Paper through the link below goes towards supporting the Corner - get some great paper and support your favorite photography site at the same time! And for a limited time, PhotographyCorner members will receive an additional 10% off - get the coupon code here: http://bit.ly/redriverpaper

6) How to Do a Product Review

The Corner Resource Center (http://www.photographycorner.com/resources) is one of the most popular sections of the site - especially for those that are not (yet) members of PhotographyCorner. It's filled with photography articles, tutorials and product reviews - and almost all of them have been written and put together by you: members of PhotographyCorner. Sure, I've written my fair share, but the majority of them are written by other members just like you. I would be willing to guess that more than 99% of you own several pieces of photography equipment & software and have probably used photography-related services. Why not help some fellow photographers out by doing a product review on that stuff? You don't have to be a pro to review equipment. Most of the photographers out there are just like you, and they want opinions on equipment from photographers just like them. Who better to write a review than a photographer than can relate to how they would actually use the equipment? Isn't that something you'd appreciate too?

Here are some tips on putting together a good review. First, use the equipment/software/service (obviously). Secondly, write down some notes on what you liked and what you didn't like. Maybe even include some technical specs if you can find them. Thirdly, take some photographs or screenshots of the product/service (if applicable). Finally, write up the features of the product/service. Touch on the pros and cons, and if, and to whom, you would recommend said product/service. What does it do? Does it do it well? Who else would want one of these? Why? Do you love it? Would you buy it again or recommend it to a fellow photographer? Then, proofread it and send it to me!

So go through your camera bag (heck, you could even review the camera bag itself!), and pick a couple of pieces of equipment to review. Write it up, and send it off to me. Then, see your handy-work displayed on PhotographyCorner for others to learn from. If you need a hand, just send me a private message or an email, and I'll do my best to guide you through the process. Other photographers will benefit from your thoughts and opinions of various products & services. Afterall, isn't that really what the Corner is all about - learning and sharing all things photography?

See you around the Corner,
Tim L. Walker
