2010 Photograph of the Year Voting Guidelines

Due to the number of entries for the 2010 Photograph of the Year contest, we've broken the voting down into 2 rounds. The first round, which runs from January 12th, 2011 to January 19th, 2011, has 10 Groups. There are 17/18 photos in each group. The top three photographs in each Group (the three photographs that receive the most votes) will be placed into the final round where they will be voted on to decide the 10 prize winners. In the event of a tie, both photographs will move to the final round.

The final voting round will run from January 20th to January 27th, with the winners announced on January 28th.

Make sure you vote in each group during round 1 of the voting process so that all 177 photos get a fair chance. If you have any questions specifically about the voting process, please ask them here (If you have any other questions about the 2010 Photograph of the Year contest, please ask them in the designated discussion thread).

Voting will be secret (ie. no one will know who you voted for, and the results of the vote will not be displayed until after the voting period has ended). You can only vote once in each group, and you must have 5 posts on the forum (including gallery comments) in order for your vote to count. Also, all photographs are anonymous, so please do not identify if you are the photographer of a specific photograph, or if you know which photographer took a certain photograph.

Voting in the Final round works similarly to that in the first round, however there will only be 1 Final Group of photographs. Vote for which photograph you think should win!

Re: 2010 Photograph of the Year Voting Guidelines

Really this competitin is difficult to vote all images is exellent. I would like to know if I read the voting guildelines, 'Voting will be secret, no one will know who you voted for' it is mean voting for own photo is permitted or is prohibited and results in having image disqualified?

Regards
Putu

Re: 2010 Photograph of the Year Voting Guidelines

Nothing that says you can't vote for your own photo.
Just don't vote more than once (using more than one user account/ID) and don't "rig" the voting...

Re: 2010 Photograph of the Year Voting Guidelines

The first round voting has been hard enough - I shudder to think how hard the second round is going to be . . .

. . what a fantastic line up of images everyone!!!

Represents a really great year of photography here at the corner!!!

Re: 2010 Photograph of the Year Voting Guidelines

- is it necessary to vote for the first round to be able to vote for the second?
- must I vote for each group for the first round? - there's one group I don't know how to vote...

Re: 2010 Photograph of the Year Voting Guidelines

No,it's not necessary to vote on all groups in the first round, or vote at all, to be eligible to vote in the second round.
