1) You New Around Here?

After the fun and excitement of the Photograph of the Year contest, there are always a boat load of people who joined the Corner for the contest, but aren't really sure what goes on around here in addition to our big contest. You're probably now aware of the Photograph of the Month contests, and even the "themed" Contest Corner Challenges, but there's a lot more to the Corner than just photography contests. Have you checked out the FREE photo galleries (http://www.photographycorner.com/galleries)? What about the forums (http://www.photographycorner.com/forum) with over 2/3rds of a million posts? And you wouldn't be getting the whole PhotographyCorner experience if you've missed the Corner Resource Center (http://www.photographycorner.com/resources) and the Corner Blog (http://www.photographycorner.com/blog)! There's a lot to explore, I know (I have to admit, it's hard to keep on top of it all).

If you're new around here, or you've been a member for a while, but haven't really gotten involved, now is the perfect time to jump in. There's lots going on in the forums (from equipment discussions, to photo critiques, to photo sharing just for fun). So what's holding you back? I dare you to make at least 5 posts in the forum this month. Whether you're a seasoned pro, or a complete beginner, the Corner is welcoming to all. Show us a photo or two (or 1000).

6) Around the Forums in 30 Days

Life is busy - we understand. This section will help catch you up on what you might be missing around the Corner forums.

101 Create Album, Upload Photo, Link Photo in Post
http://www.photographycorner.com/for...ad.php?t=96847
A great walk-through, put together by Nikon_Mario, on how to create an album, upload a photo to the galleries, and how to post a photo in a thread - great post for newbies to the Corner.

We're Meeting Up In Allentown!
http://www.photographycorner.com/for...ad.php?t=96029
There's a BIG Corner meet-up happening this spring (May 11-15, 2011) in the Allentown/Philadelphia PA area - are you coming?

Normally we'll list 5-10 forums/threads in this section of the newsletter, but these 2 are SUPER important - read them both, then go enjoy at least one other section of the forum - your choice!

7) The Corner Golden Rule

"For each photographeth thine doth upload, maketh at least thrice replieths on the photographeths of thy neighbour." (i.e., for every photograph you upload, make at least 3 comments (5 or more would be better) comments on photographs uploaded by others in the community). If you post up a photo and want comments, feedback and critiques of it, you'll soon find that your photos, regardless of how good or bad they are, will receive very little attention if you're not active in the community. This means posting in the Member Introductions forum, the Conversation Corner, and in a variety of the various forums around the Corner - in addition to commenting on photos in the Photo Sharing Corner and providing feedback and critiques in the Critiques & Feedback Corner. The more active you are in the community, the better feedback you'll receive on your photographs. The better feedback you receive on your photographs, the better a photographer you'll become... and that's the whole point, isn't it? Try it for 30 days. Make a conscious effort to reply to more threads in the forums, and I promise you'll start to receive more replies to your threads. If it doesn't happen, we'll be more than happy to provide you with a 100% refund. Guaranteed.

See you around the Corner,
Tim L. Walker
