This received the rank of 2nd. This photo was the result of missing equipment and a lot of improvising. I had no remote release, no rain cover, and no tripod. And I still managed to capture this shot! I used the self timer instead of the remote, a Wal-Mart sack instead of a rain cover, and a rock instead of a tripod. Granted I took 87 pictures that night and this was the only one that had lightning in it, but it was totally woth it!

OK.. I'm new to this stuff. I assume you didn't use the star filter.. did the 'twinkle' effect come from extreme stopping down? Please, just send me a message and let me know. I'm afraid I'll never find this picture again to see a reply. Thanks.
