M-Rock Mesa Verde 644 Compact Camera Bag

Luckily, the M-Rock Mesa Verde 644 Compact Camera Bag does have some additional features that may help it raise above the rest of the pack. The first thing you’ll probably notice if you hold one in your hand is the quality materials used in the construction of the bag give that “not-a-cheap-camera-bag” feel to it. When you hold it, use the zippers, open the buckle and clasp and unclasp the Velcro over and over, it just feels like a good quality bag - it could stand up to being knocked around a bit, and definitely keep up with above-average wear and tear. The zippers may not be top-of-the-line, but they work just fine. The full-cover weather jacket is an uncommon, but welcome, addition to a compact camera bag. Point-and-shoot cameras can be expensive, and they’re definitely worth protecting from the rain! The attached lens cloth is a nice touch, too - just because the case isn’t housing thousand dollar lenses, doesn’t mean we don’t want to keep our compact cameras clean. The shoulder strap, which is often missing from cheaper compact camera cases, is of good quality, and the Velcro on the belt loop is fantastic. If I were a “wearing my camera case on my belt” type of guy (though I’m not), I’m sure it would stay put all day, as the Velcro and the belt strap seem very sturdy. It comes in a variety of colors (Black/Grey, Black/Lilac, Black/Navy, Black/Red and Black/Sand). It’s pictured below in Black/Grey, and I’ve seen and held the Black/Red, the Black/Sand and Black/Navy, and all colors look quite sharp (and if your point-and-shoot camera bag is part of your wardrobe, this is important!).

Capacity
The Mesa Verde 644 Compact Camera Bag is a pretty standard-sized point-and-shoot camera bag and can fit most point-and-shoot cameras. The Canon PowerShot G11 fits well, so anything that size should be fine. Anything smaller and you can probably fit the charger in there, too. M-Rock has a list of cameras that they know for sure fit on their website here.

Weather Jacket
Even if we use our dSLR’s most of the time, many photographers also have a compact camera we like to bring around with us. Sometimes it’s just easier to whip out a compact camera for some quick photos, and sometimes, we just don’t feel like “setting up the shot.” Maybe a compact camera is all you need. Either way, you need a case for it, and the one that usually comes with the camera (if it comes with one at all) is often less than satisfactory. And while there are many, many cases for compact cameras out there, the M-Rock Mesa Verde 644 Compact Camera Bag is one of the better ones. If you’re going to spend hundreds of dollars on a compact camera, don’t “protect” it with a $5 bag. At $24, the Mesa Verde 644 Compact Camera Bag is hardly expensive, and will, at the very least, be a great camera bag for your compact camera; and with the quality construction and extra bells and whistles that it comes with, it’ll probably outlast several of them.
